Kind of like a battlefield, with fireworks going off under your feet.
The idea is setting off lanterns and Krathongs (little boats made of flowers let into the river), releasing your worries. Maybe the lanterns worked, but the beer definitely worked.
It creates a huge amount of pollution. The Thai gov't was apparently telling people to set only one Krathong per family. People set off thousands of lanterns, and I wonder where they all go.
It's beautiful, though.
