1. Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. Bamboo forests. Rivers and mountains.
2. Miyajama Island, near Hiroshima, Japan.
3. Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto. Our favorite temple on a hill (and we saw more than a lot of temples).
4. Lion Bar, Shibuya, Tokyo. Recommended by my friend Aaron, it is a temple like bar/coffee shop that is silent except for classical music. Everyone faces in one direction. I paid 10 dollars for a glass of orange juice and an earful of classical music.
5. Meiji Shrine, Tokyo. One of the first places we visited, but one of my favorites. Had tons of big old trees.
